Lightbee - collecting energy

Light Bee is a lamp which combines a battery charger, a pocket lamp and a lantern.
It is designed for use in remote, rural areas without energy grid for everyday life or for outdoor activities.

Background Across one third of the planet nightfall still brings darkness, approximately 2 billion people live without electricity. When they want to see at night they burn things like wood or kerosine, which is inefficient, dangerous and ecologically disastrous. A child reading for an evening by the light of a kerosene lamp breathes in fumes equivalent to  smoking two packs of cigarettes, according to a World Bank report.

Idea Light Bee is a lamp which is able to collect energy and recharge batteries with solar paneels.
The light can be used as a pocket lamp or, when extended, as a lantern to illuminate rooms or
Environments. The LEDs have a longer lifetime and need less energy then normal lightbulbs, and do not get hot while in use.

Technology 3 solar paneels collect energy for 3 AA NiMH Accus, which can also be used for various other electrical devices.The light is equipped with 3 LEDs which are focused through a lens when used as a pocket torch. 

Collecting energy The light can be fixed with the integrated clip or velcro fastener to the perfect angle to the sun. The solarpaneels on the back can be unfolded and collects energy.Material and Environment
The lightbee consists of a water proof  plastic housing. All components and assemblies are sorted in units for easy assembly, repair  and dissassembly for recycling.
